The STORY
Austin continues to reach new heights with the HKS-designed Wilson Tower, a soaring project with the cache of the city’s latest supertall. The 80-story residential skyscraper will rise 1,035 feet above the city and is as abundant with innovation as it is tall.
Making the announcement of this supertall, we worked with HKS Principal, Brad Wilkins, who has worked on some of the world's tallest buildings — including Dubai's Burj Khalifa and the Wuhan Greenland Center in China — to come up with a game plan on how to announce the skyscraper’s intent and how it will continue to evolve the perspective and reputation of a global powerhouse, HKS.
How do you make sure a monumental project launch (with strict rules of what media we could go out to and who we couldn’t) get impressive results? Relationships, baby. It also did not hurt us to also have a solid connection with CNN Style — we may or may not have secured a story with them via a text message (and a smiley face emoji).
